Meteora is a stunning place in Greece with a rich history. The monasteries there were built between the 14th and 16th centuries, and they’re perched on these massive rock formations that look like something straight out of a fantasy novel. And let’s not forget the name, Meteora. It comes from the Greek word for “suspended in the air,” which is pretty accurate considering the monasteries are basically hanging off the side of these rocks.
Our journey will start by visiting any out of six monasteries you like. Mind of that you will have a good pair o sneakers cause you will have to go through a lot of stairs and ascenting paths.
Breathing in fresh air, enjoying endless view, and walking among the stunning cliffs and incredibly massive rocks that date back approximately 60 million years is a unique experience that combines natural beauty with the history of the Earth. This activity offers not only rejuvenation and tranquility but also a deeper connection with nature and time.
At the end of our journey, we can take a stop at the town of Kalambaka. There is a variety of traditional Greek restaurants with a various regional specialty.
