Over the years, the museum underwent various renovation and construction projects to address everything from the building itself to displaying the collections in ways that took advantage of modern museological methods and contemporary information technology.
Some notable artifacts inside the museum are the Dancing Column, the archaic kouroi Cleobis and Viton, Sphinx and many others.
